Dabeer transcribes files and meetings, types as you dictate, and turns conversations into ready-made minutes. Fully on-device — private and offline.
The same powerful recognition and text-correction models the big services use — but with no cloud and no server subscriptions.
Drop in audio or video — Dabeer recognizes speech with timecodes. Any format, any language.
Double-tap and speak into any input field. The text appears by itself — no typing.
Record a meeting and get a full transcript. Audio is saved — you can always re-listen.
A local language model fixes punctuation, grammar and typos — text is ready to use right away.
Recordings and transcripts never leave your Mac. Perfect for NDA, lawyers, medicine and finance.
Whisper for recognition and open LLMs for correction — everything runs on your device.
Basic is already available and covers everyday speech work. Pro will add features for calls, accuracy and collaboration.
Dabeer's key difference — everything runs on your Mac. That's something cloud services fundamentally can't offer.

Dabeer is still in Beta and ships directly, without the App Store — so on first launch macOS will ask you to confirm. That's normal and safe. A step-by-step guide is right inside the download.
Open the downloaded Dabeer .dmg and drag “Dabeer” into the Applications folder.
System Settings → “Privacy & Security” → at the bottom click “Open Anyway”. This is needed once — Dabeer isn’t App Store-signed because it’s in Beta.
The Dabeer icon appears in the menu bar, top right. For dictation, grant microphone and Accessibility access.
The download includes the app and a PDF guide “How to install Dabeer”. Completely free, no sign-up.
Dabeer runs comfortably on most modern Macs. For large models and fast work — we recommend Apple Silicon.
Cloud transcribers send your meetings to someone else’s servers. Dabeer sends nothing. It’s the only way to work with speech where data can’t leave the building.
Download Dabeer for macOSYes. Speech recognition and text correction run entirely on your Mac. Neither audio nor text is sent anywhere — the app doesn’t need internet at all (except one model download). That’s why Dabeer fits where cloud services are banned: NDA, lawyers, medicine, finance.
Nothing. The recognition and correction engines are already built into Dabeer. After install there’s one step — download a language model right inside the app (Settings → “Recognition”). Dabeer suggests which model fits your Mac by memory.
Yes. Dabeer is currently in Beta and ships directly, without the App Store, so the system asks for confirmation. Open “System Settings” → “Privacy & Security” → at the bottom click “Open Anyway”. You do this once. A detailed guide is inside the download (PDF “How to install Dabeer”).
Recognition is based on Whisper — that’s dozens of languages with auto-detection, including Russian and English. For text correction and minutes there are models strong in Russian (Qwen, Gemma) — the app marks which model works best with which language.
The app itself is about 30 MB. Plus a recognition model: from ≈1.5 GB (Medium) to ≈3 GB (Large v3). Optionally — a text-correction model (from ≈1 to ≈9 GB, your choice). On memory: 8 GB is enough for light models, 16 GB+ for large ones and top quality.
Yes, Dabeer Basic is free, no sign-up or subscriptions. The Pro version (for teams and calls: system audio capture, voice profiles, smart minutes) is paid and currently in development.
macOS 13 Ventura and newer. Apple Silicon (M1 and newer) is recommended — that’s where Metal acceleration works. Dabeer also runs on Intel Macs, but noticeably slower, especially on large models.
